Air Conditioning & Heating (Tap to read)

Central heating and cooling are uncommon in Japanese homes. Each bedroom and the kitchen/dining area has its own AC/heating unit, so you can adjust the temperature individually to your comfort.

Cool

Use Cool (冷房) and adjust the temperature gradually. Tokyo summers are hot and humid, so avoid setting it too low for comfortable, balanced cooling.

Dehumidification

Use Dehumidification (除湿) to remove excess moisture from the air. This is especially helpful during June–July and on muggy summer nights. It often feels cooler without over-chilling the room.

Heat

Use Heat (暖房) and avoid setting the temperature too high. Winter in Japan is very dry, so moderate settings help prevent dry skin, eyes, and throat.

Before Leaving the Room

Please press Turn Off (停止) to save energy when you go out.
